ucts from the EU, Japan, the US and Korea for five years to protect domestic
players from cheap imports. The Commerce and Industry Ministry has recom-
mended imposition of the Anti-dumping duty on the product from these coun-
tries and rejected the demand to exclude products based on their quality, citing
                                     circumvention of the duty.
“The interested parties have argued that non-prime materials should be
excluded from the PUC (Product Under Consideration),” the Directorate General
of Trade Remedies (DGTR) said in its findings.
Non-prime steel or second-grade steel is not tested as per the relevant
                                     standards specification.

India may levy Anti-dumping duty on black toner in powder form, used

In two separate notifications on 19-6-2020, the Commerce and Industry
Ministry recommended imposition of Anti-dumping duty. The Finance Ministry
takes a final call on imposing the duty.
For toners, the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), which
comes under the Commerce and Industry Ministry, has recommended duty in
the range of $ 196-$ 1,686 per tonne while for measuring tapes, it has again sug-

The Authority said that there is likelihood of continuation or recurrence
of dumping of measuring tapes if the existing Anti-dumping duties are allowed
                                     to cease.
This week, DGTR recommended levying Anti-dumping duties on aniline
and antibacterial drug Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride originating in or exported
                                     from China.
