Foreign Trade Policy

Silver - Import policy condition revised. — The Central Government
has amended import policy conditions of Silver under Chapter 71 of ITC (HS),
2017, Schedule-I (Import Policy). While import of Silver Powder (7106 10 00),
Unwrought Silver (7106 91 00), Silver Sheets, plates, strips, tubes and pipes (7106
92 10) and Silver-Others (7106 92 90) remain restricted and is allowed only
through nominated agencies as notified by RBI, the import of Silver under Ad-
vance Authorisation and supply of silver directly by foreign buyers to exporters
under Para 4.45 of FTP against export orders have been exempted from condition
of import through nominated agencies. — M.C. & I. (D.C.) Notification No. 5/2015-

Masks - Export policy revised to allow export of Non-surgical/Non-
medical Masks. — The Central Government has amended Notification No. 44,
dated 31-1-2020 and Notification No. 52, dated 19-3-2020 to amend the export
policy of masks in Schedule 2 of the ITC HS Export Policy, 2018 to allow export
of non-medical/non-surgical masks of all types. However, all other masks would
continue to remain prohibited for export. — M.C. & I. (D.C.) Notification No.

Urad - Import of annual quota of 4 lakh MT for the Year 2020-21 - Peri-
od of import extended till 31-8-2020. — The Central Government has modified
the period of import for the annual quota of import of 4 lakh MT of Urad for the
year 2020-21, notified vide Notification S.O. 1122(E), dated 17-3-2020. Now the
imports to be completed by 31-8-2020 instead of 31-3-2020, as notified earlier.
Application filed in-terms of Trade Notice No. 57/2019-2020, dated 19-3-2020
will be considered and finalized for this purpose. — M.C. & I. Notification No.

Gopalpur Port, Odisha notified as a port of Registration under Para
4.37 of HBP, 2015-20. — The D.G.F.T. has amended Para 4.37 of HBP 2015-20 to
add Gopalpur Port as a port of registration for various Schemes under the For-
eign Trade Policy. — D.G.F.T. Public Notice No. 6/2015-20, dated 22-5-2020. (See

Urad - Import of additional quota of Urad of 2.5 lakh MT for Fiscal
Year 2019-20. — In view of representations received seeking extension of the date
of import of Urad beyond 15-5-2020 due to the current lockdown situation due to
pandemic COVID-19, the D.G.F.T. has extended the deadline for import of the
same up to 31-5-2020 i.e. imports should arrive at Indian Ports before 31-5-2020.
