Masks — Export Policy revised to allow export of
Non-surgical/Non-medical Masks

Subject : Amendment in Export Policy of Masks.
In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 of the Foreign Trade (Devel-
opment & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992), as amended, read with Para
1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-20, the Central Government here-
by makes following modification in the Notification No. 44, dated 31-1-2020 read with
Notification No. 52, dated 19-3-2020, to amend the export policy of masks in
Schedule 2 of the ITC HS Export Policy 2018 :

2. Effect of this Notification :
Notification No. 44, dated 31-1-2020 read with Notification No. 52, dated
19-3-2020, prohibiting the export of all types of masks, is amended to allow the
export of non-medical/non-surgical masks of all types (cotton, silk, wool, knit-
ted). All other types of masks falling under any ITC HS code, including the HS
Codes mentioned above, would continue to remain prohibited for exports.

Urad — Import of annual quota of 4 lakh MT for the Year
2020-21 — Period of import extended till 31-8-2020
The Central Government, vide notification S.O. 1122(E), dated
17th March 2020, had notified annual quota of 4 lakh MT for import of Urad for
the year 2020-21. In exercise of powers conferred by section 3 of the Foreign
Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (22 of 1992), read with para-
graphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-2020, as amended from
time to time, the Central Government hereby partially modifies the period of im-
port to be till 31st August, 2020 instead of 31st March 2021, as notified earlier.
2. Further, the application filed in-terms of Trade Notice No. 57/2019-
2020, dated 19th March 2020 will be considered and finalised.
